Our MOD client requires an analyst to contribute to the generation of representative campaign plans from high level policy compliant scenario descriptions and play a key role in generating and representing the Red threat within the scenario. The analyst will be required to familiarise themselves with the relevant Defence Planning Scenario, attend initial setup meetings and the week long campaign planning session. Their input will then be required whilst the plan is being written up and schemes of manouevre are developed. This full sequence of events is planned to take place six times during the coming financial year. The analyst will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of civilian analysts and serving military officers.
This is a part time role with the individual working roughly two to three days a week, although this may be more or less on any given week depending on the exact work load at that time.
Essential criteria:
- Significant military understanding
- A solid understanding of likely threat tactics, doctrine and technical capability
- An ability to take on the role and character of possible threat actors
- An ability to conduct research into threat capability and use the information obtained in an innovative manner
- Past experience in Operational Analysis
- Good personal organisation skills
- An effective communicator
- A track record of delivering results
- Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team

Our MOD client requires a senior analyst with significant military experience to support and advise on the genreation of high level policy compliant campaign plans.
The role will include
- drawing together the required inputs and the results of the campaign planning process
- generating key reports and presentations
- jointly preparing and delivering briefs to the customer community
- guiding and assisting junior team members
The analyst will be required to familiarise themselves with the relevant Defence Planning Scenarios, contribute to the development of the Red and Blue plans and attend the planning meetings. Their input will then be required whilst the plan is being written up and schemes of manouevre are developed. The analyst will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of civilian analysts and serving military officers.
This is a full time role.
Essential skills
- Significant military experience
- A solid understanding of UK and likely threat tactics, doctrine and technical capabilities
- A track record of operational analysis on key studies
- Knowledge of Defence Policy (Defence Strategic Guidance), SAG Book/Defence Planning Scenarios and the Joint Campaign Development Force Estimation Process
- Experience writing High Level Campaign Plans
- Knowledge of the military planning process, particularly with regard to the Effects Based Approach and recent joint warfare publications.
