Train Driver Selection

Polaris recently assisted the R&D department of the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) in procuring a computer simulation based aptitude test for train driver applicants. This is a project with multiple stakeholders and specialised technical requirements. Our brief was to move from a loosely defined project specification to a point where RSSB could invite tenders. In the space of two months we delivered:

• a detailed functional specification
• a project, quality and risk plan for the whole procurement cycle
• a project overview document with a clear statement of project requirements and tender criteria
